Board of Directors
Ways and Means: responsible for revenue generation – membership dues, corporate sponsorships, fund raising events, exploring new ways to generate revenue while maintaining affordable dues structures.
Ambassadors: active member recruitment, perform new/renewing member follow up visits, help coordinate special events, work as "greeters" at all functions and facilitate networking among event attendees.
Special Events & Programs: develop, promote, organize and run events.
Business Advocacy: have designated topics of discussion for each meeting (ex: workers comp or proposed minimum wage hike), provide time for members to present individual issues needing resolution (ex: lane re-striping, sign ordinances, permit issues), take action on the information presented at meetings (ex: lobby City Council for ordinance changes, assist business with paperwork), develop issue list to present at City Council on behalf of business owners, develop slate of issues/propositions for Board to support, educate members on the impact of proposed local, state and national bills via newsletter articles.
Education and Workforce Development: develop, coordinate and promote educational workshops for members; create events to tie business into schools that will benefit both (ex: career exploration fair, summer internship program).
